For successful studies you need a healthy life style. There is a wide range of possibilities for you to stay physically and mentally healthy at ETH Zurich.
What can you do by yourself:
- Eat healthy and be on a balanced diet. Gastronomy
- Be physically active! ASVZ
- Sleep sufficiently!
- Consume alcohol thoughtfully and avoid recreational drugs!
- Care about your mental health proactively!
Mental health is a state of wellbeing, in which an individual realizes his or her own abilities, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and is able to make a contribution to his or her community.World Health Organisation
It is normal to feel destressed or anxious in the demanding everyday university life. Therefore, you should take care proactively about your mental state and influence it positively.
Following aspects could help you:
- Live in the present and direct your thoughts to positive things.
- Maintain your friendships and social networks.
- Find possibilities to relax or meditate.
- Set realistic goals and do not compare yourself to others: Learning how to learn
- Organise yourself and learn to cope with stress: Coping with pressure and stress
- Learn from failures and accept constructive feedback: Dealing with failing exams
- Get active: Student associations
